What are Product & Services Tags
Product & Service Tags are used by suppliers on their profile as part of the Network. Allowing you to easily find companies you would like to engage with.
The ‘Products and Services’ section can be located on the left hand-side of the Network page by scrolling down. They are sorted into New and Old as they’re currently being updated.
DeepStream uses UNSPSC codes to categorise Product & Services Tags. Please consult the UNSPSC website for more detailed FAQs around the standard itself.
Understanding Product & Services Tags
Tags have a 4-level structure, with parent tags containing child tags. Each tag has:
A description.
An 8-digit code representing the structure levels.
The table below explains how this works:

1) Segment | 30000000 | Structures and Building and Construction and Manufacturing Components and Supplies |
2) Family | 30110000 | Concrete and cement and plaster |
3) Class | 30111600 | Cement and lime |
4) Commodity | 30111601 | Cement |
You can browse these tags by hovering over any parent tag and clicking the open button to show its children below. You can continue to open parent tags until you're viewing the lowest-level tag type.
The parent tags you're viewing are shown at the top of the panel (in grey) and you can click the "<" button at top-left of a parent tag to go back to a higher level.
How Product & Services Tags Have Changed
Product & Service Tags now use UNSPSC codes for a more comprehensive selection. The platform is in a migration phase, encouraging companies to select new tags. Old tags are now read-only, visible but uneditable. New tags should be selected promptly to keep your company profile up-to-date.
How to Search for Product & Services Tags
To search for Product & Services Tags, enter a term in the search field, and relevant results will be shown as you type. You can also search using a specific 8-digit UNSPSC code.
How to Select Product & Services Tags
You can select Product & Services Tags when editing them in your profile or filtering the Network.
Hover over a product or service and click the Open button.
Hover over the tag and click the "+" button to select it.
The button changes to a "✓," and you can click it again to deselect a tag.
Click Save.
⚡ Top Tip: If a perfect match isn't found, select the most appropriate higher-level Product & Services Tag(s) and use the company description on your profile to clarify nuances.
